Holiday Cheer

Barbara%20web

Residents on the West Neighborhood got into the holiday spirit recently, by making Christmas decorations. The residents unpacked an artificial tree and  assembled it. Care partners and residents attached the branches to the tree before decorating it with brightly colored ornaments. In the photo, resident Barbara Miyasato adds ornaments to a Christmas tree. The tree is outside on the lanai where residents can enjoy it and the beautiful weather at the same time.

This story illustrates Eden Alternative principle #6 “An Elder-centered community imbues daily life with variety and spontaneity by creating an environment in which unexpected and unpredictable interactions and happenings can take place. This is the antidote to boredom.”
