Maui Jim Gives Gifts from the Heart

Maui Jim kicked off the spirit of giving in a big way for Hale Makua Health Services with an amazing gift. A check in the amount of $152,500 was presented to Hale Makua Health Services CEO, Wes Lo, at Maui Jim's International Sales Meeting on December 7th. Walter chooses to make these phenomenal Christmas gifts each year in the hopes of making a difference in the community and inspiring others to do the same. Maui Jim's  donation will go directly to help our residents that are unable to afford the cost of round-the-clock care. If you would like to join Maui Jim and Walter in helping individuals at Hale Makua, you can make a tax-deductible donation here.

Maui Jim, founded on Maui in 1980 and has grown to be one of the largest sunglasses company in the world, runs it's business with aloha--caring for people first and foremost. Walter Hester, Maui Jim CEO, recognizes Maui Jim's success is, in part, due to the support from our island community. For Walter, giving back is a passion and a priority. And in appreciation for the support Maui Jim has received from our community members island-wide, Maui Jim has generously given to Hale Makua Health Services and other non-profit agencies since 2002.

Hale Makua residents, Alvin Keohohina and Melissa Miyamura, along with our CEO, Wes Lo, and Development staff had the opportunity to visit Maui Jim's Lahaina store on December 19th and personally thank Maui Jim employees for their generosity throughout the years. Maui Jim's overall donations to Hale Makua Health Services total nearly half a million dollars. Their kindness continues to make a great impact on our organization, more importantly the individuals that depend on the personalized health care we provide.

In addition to their gifts to Hale Makua Health Services, Maui Jim also made donations to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Imua Family Services and Women Helping Women. Donations included proceeds from the Maui Jim Oceanfest 2016, in which 100% of the proceeds are given to Maui charities. Mahalo Maui Jim and Walter Hester for living and sharing aloha!
