Montessori Students Go Above and Beyond

Thank you to the students at Montessori School of Maui, who went above and beyond their traditional performance of holiday songs by bringing in gifts for residents to put under the tree. The elementary school students from the Wiliwili Class under the direction of Lead Teacher Jolyne Rego, have been coming to perform for the past 23 years. This year a student's grandparent and family member of a former Hale Makua resident saw our wish list in our quarterly Pulama newsletter and had the wonderful idea of getting the students involved in something that would bring extra joy to residents. The children and their families brought over 100 gifts for residents to open, from socks and slippers to electric shavers, a CD player and everything in between. We are so thankful for the thoughtfulness and generosity from these Montessori students and their families.
