Hale Makua Partners with Local Organizations to Help Maui's Community

Naintraining

Hale Makua is working in collaboration with other local organizations in a new initiative called the HealthCARES Hui intended to create job opportunities, expand food delivery outreach, and connect those in need with appropriate medical care, personal care, or home improvement services.  The County of Maui has allocated around $1.5 million towards this initiative through Federal funding received from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.   Along with Hale Makua, the HealthCARES Hui includes Hui No Ke Ola Pono, Mālama I Ke Ola Health Center, Habitat for Humanity, Hale Mahaolu, Kula Hospital, East Maui Kupūna Hui and Maui Medical Group

The program will allow healthcare organizations on Maui to hire around 50 full-time positions for CNAs, community health workers, new graduates, and those who lost their jobs during the pandemic.  Through this initiative, Hale Makua will be hiring a group of full-time Nurse Aides-In-Training who will get paid while training to become nursing aides, and is also seeking to hire full-time Home Health Aides-In-Training. If you know anyone interested in becoming a Home Health Aide or interested in other positions available at Hale Makua, have them visit our website at www.halemakua.org/careers
