Hanamatsuri Tradition

Every year for the past 25 years, our residents make 250 flower boutonniere’s for the annual visit from Hanamatsuri church members, an opportunity for our residents to have fellowship and talk story with the church members. The Church visits both Hale Makua Kahului and Wailuku, and Kula Hospital residents. When making the boutonnière's we use our own supplies and then the church presents a check to help with the cost of floral tape, flowers, etc. for the following year. This is a fantastic activity that our residents look forward to every year!
