Local Farm's Donation Provides Meals

Img_3068%20edit

Hoku Nui Farms recently made a generous donation of 130 pounds of local, grass fed ground beef to Hale Makua. The donation was able to provide two meals, spaghetti with meat sauce and teriyaki burgers, for about 430 nursing home residents and day health clients. We are grateful for the generosity and support of local businesses like Hoku Nui, for thinking of fresh, innovative ways to give back to our community. Residents loved the meals and longtime resident Olive Silva said it was one of the best burgers she’s had!

Hoku Nui Maui’s mission is to re-establish a diverse native and endemic Hawaiian habitat and foster a productive agricultural operation, integrating a small community of sustainable residential homes. You can visit their farm stand at 186 Pi‘iholo Road in Makawao to purchase local meats, eggs and produce and more or for additional information about them go to www.hokunui.com.
