Walter & Cathy Scott Scholarship Recipients

We are pleased to announce the two recipients for the 2016 Walter & Cathy Scott Scholarship. The Scholarship was created in 1996 to encourage Hale Makua employees to pursue educational opportunities in the field of healthcare. Money earned by the fund provides scholarships that help HMHS employees pay for tuition, books, and fees.
The scholarship will help Jordan Kahiamoe (in the photo above left with Connie Miller, HMHS Wailuku Administrator) in his last semester of classes to complete his Certified Activity Director certificate. Jordan is currently the Activities Director in Training at Hale Makua Wailuku. Congratulations, Jordan!
Ashley Ramos (in the photo above right with Tony Krieg, HMHS CEO/Administrator) will be using her scholarship towards furthering her nursing education to aid in reaching her goal of becoming an RN through the UHMC Nursing Program. Ashley is currently a CNA at Hale Makua Wailuku. Best of luck to you, Ashley!
We are grateful to Walter & Cathy Scott for the numerous opportunities their scholarship has provided to our employees in furthering their education. Not only do our employees benefit, but it also helps our residents to receive proper care from trained caregivers.
